Master Program Talk, School of Fashion and Textiles, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University: MA in Global Fashion Management, and MA in Sustainable Fashion and Innovation

This talk will provide an in-depth overview of two distinguished Master of Arts (MA) programs: the MA in Global Fashion Management and the MA in Sustainable Fashion and Innovation offered by the School of Fashion and Textiles, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). The talk aims to equip prospective students with essential insights into these cutting-edge postgraduate offerings.

The MA in Global Fashion Management focuses on developing strategic leadership skills for navigating the complexities of the international fashion industry. It emphasizes on global fashion strategic management and entrepreneurship, articulating some of the best managerial practices and innovative business solutions in the fashion industry.

The MA in Sustainable Fashion and Innovation addresses the pressing need for environmentally responsible practices in fashion. The curriculum integrates capstone project that can bring impactful sustainable innovations to their company. Additionally, students will learn about the latest developments in green production, green branding, sustainable design and innovation, and social and environmental compliance audits.

Both programs blend rigorous academic coursework with practical industry collaborations, leveraging PolyU's world-class facilities and faculty expertise. Attendees will gain knowledge on admission requirements, career prospects, and scholarship opportunities.

Bio:

Dr. Fan is currently an Associate Professor at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is a researcher in the areas of sustainable operations management and global supply chain. He has published in prestigious academic journals including Journal of Operations Management, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, and Production and Operations Management. He is an Associate Editor of Journal of Operations Management and International Journal of Operations and Production Management. He is an Editorial board member of Journal of International Business Studies, Decision Sciences and Journal of Supply Chain Management.

He has received several research related awards including the IACMR 2017 Presidential Award of Responsible Research, 2020 Jack Meredith Best Paper Award, 2022 Honorable Mention of Reviewer Service, 2023 Best Reviewer Award of Journal of Operations Management, and 2024 Chan Hahn Best Paper Award from Academy of Management.

His research findings and commentaries were featured by over 100 reports from international and media including The Guardian, Financial Times, Nikkei Asia, Vogue Business, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age (Melbourne), and South China Morning. He also published in practitioner journals including Harvard Business Review, Supply Chain Management Review, and Management and Business Review.

Dr Fan is currently the Assistant Dean of School of Fashion and Textiles, the discipline leader of fashion business, and the program leader of Master of Sustainable Fashion and Innovation.
